Housing for People with Long-Term Care Needs As Chair of the Rhode Island Long Term Care Coordinating Council, Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos formed a Subcommittee on Housing Access and Affordability to examine the current and projected future housing needs of Rhode Islanders who are older, those with disabilities, and anyone else in need of long-term care supportive housing. The Subcommittee, made up of policy experts, advocates, and care industry leaders, worked for over a year to develop a report and recommendations for the full Council's review. In April of 2023, the Long Term Care Coordinating Council approved that report, entitled Meeting the Housing Needs of Rhode Island’s Older Adults and Individuals with Chronic Disabilities and Illnesses. You can read that report and its recommendations here.
