Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos believes in promoting digital equity across Rhode Island, especially in the form of expanding access to high-speed broadband. Reliable, accessible, and affordable internet is a necessity for many aspects of everyday life. However, many Rhode Islanders face economic or geographic barriers to obtaining a useful internet connection.

In her first full term, Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos looks forward to working with local leaders and the state’s congressional delegation to deploy the ongoing major federal investment in broadband infrastructure across Rhode Island. The Lieutenant Governor will also work closely with RI Commerce to finalize and execute the state’s Broadband and Digital Equity Strategic Plan.
